Wireframes & Iterations

Wireframes & Iterations

The wireframes focus on creating a familiar, native Netflix experience while introducing seamless social interactions. They explore key flows such as creating a watch party, inviting friends, selecting content, and engaging in text, voice, or video chat. These early designs prioritize simplicity, ease of use, and reducing friction for group viewing.

Design System

To ensure the Watch Party feature felt like a native extension of Netflix, I created a design system that aligned with Netflix’s established brand identity while introducing new interaction patterns for group viewing.

Key Elements:

  • Color Palette: Used Netflix’s signature dark theme with subtle red accents for highlights and calls-to-action.

  • Typography: Maintained Netflix Sans for consistency, ensuring legibility across screens.

  • UI Components: Designed modals, toggles, buttons, and chat elements that match Netflix’s minimal aesthetic.

  • Iconography: Simple, familiar icons for chat modes, reactions, and playback controls to minimize learning curve.

Reflection

Reflection

This project taught me the importance of designing within an existing ecosystem while balancing new functionality and simplicity. I learned how small social interactions, like avatars and reactions, can greatly enhance user engagement when designed thoughtfully.
